The Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Ag.Theodoroi, completed the maturing studies for the construction of the first Green Point of the Region of Peloponnese, and one of the first 10 on the national level. The "green light" was given by the issuing of special terms from the Region of Peloponnese on 21/8/2018.
Green Points provide an organized space where citizens can bring recyclables, edible oils and fats, electrical and electronic equipment waste, textile waste, biodegradable garden and park waste, bulky waste as well as small quantities of small repairs and household maintenance. The operation of the green points helps to promote separate waste collection.
Citizens will be able to transport their waste there and by following a circular route inside the site, they will be guided with the help of appropriate signs to the specific dumping locations for the separate collection of their recyclable materials which will then be prepared for re-use and recycling.
The green point of the Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Ag.Theodoroi will be built on an area of 0.87 ha and will be combined with the creation of an Environmental Awareness Park within the plot where various events and activities related to environmental education and awareness can take place.
A financial request to the NSRF (National Strategic Reference Framework) will be made in the forthcoming Autumn to be followed by tender procedures for the construction of the Green Point.
EPTA Consultants-Environmental Engineers (www.epta.gr) contributed to this development by supporting the collaboration who completed the project's maturity study under a contract with the Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Ag.Theodoroi.
